Activ participating in the Knowledge Transfer Partnership scheme this summer

March 10th, 2010

Activ, the Leicestershire-based online marketing company will be participating in the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme this Summer. The KTP is Europe’s leading programme helping businesses to improve their competitiveness and productivity through the better use of knowledge, technology and skills that reside within the UK knowledge base.

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership benefits both organisations and academia. It brings companies and research departments together and ensures the work of university research departments becomes more relevant to businesses in the real world. The KTP facilitates the transfer of knowledge and the spread of technical and business skills, through innovation projects undertaken by high calibre, recently qualified, people under the joint supervision of personnel from business and the knowledge base.

No doubt, Activ will highly benefit from participating in the Knowledge Transfer Partnership leading to much success for Activ and it’s franchisees.

Following a series of meetings, Activ have now established links with De Montfort University and the Knowledge Transfer Partnership scheme to help further Activ’s AUK network.

Activ’s AUK network boasts the largest network of local websites in the UK so the Knowledge Transfer associates certainly won’t be short of challenge or two. Their AUK websites provide local people with a full comprehensive guide to everything that is going on in their area, including local news, houses for sale, local businesses, cars for sale, community activity and there is even a section to save money with local businesses.

Activ will benefit from the Knowledge Transfer Program by utilising the specialist skills of various members of De Montfort University, Leicester to help overhaul the AUK websites and make AUK far more interactive. The KTP associates will work closely with Activ’s own in-house Product Development Team to improve the AUK opportunity for everyone associated with it.

A higher level of user interaction within the Activ websites will lead to the websites generating a greater amount of revenue. Users will have more to do on the sites, thus making them more likely to stay on the websites for longer, increasing the chances that they will click on the Pay Per Click content that makes the websites money. In addition, as users’ brand loyalty increases and as they start to like the websites to a greater extent, people will thus visit the websites more frequently and will become more likely to spread the word about the websites via word of mouth marketing.

The improvements made to the AUK network will result in higher brand exposure for Activ while simultaneously helping numerous local businesses to gain more acknowledgement in their respective markets.

All in all, the go-ahead for The Knowledge Transfer Partnership has been eagerly received by Activ as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership is beneficial for a variety of reasons. For instance, due to the high quality nature of Knowledge Transfer Partnership students, as well as the professionalism of the program, most firms recoup their investment within the first year, and go on to make significant extra profits thereafter. Each project results in an average of three new research projects initiated, more than three new jobs and 15 existing company staff trained.
